Heavy, On Purpose: Thin coats look thin. This one has real weight, so it falls straight from your shoulders and keeps its shape. You'll feel it the second you lift it out of the box.

Lined All The Way Down: The cheap ones skip this. Ours doesn't. It slides on over a sweater and it feels like a real coat from the inside too.

Past Your Knees: Near the ankle if you're under 5'4". Mid to lower calf on most others. Long enough to cover a dress, and long enough to keep the wind off your legs.

Belted So You Still Have A Waist: Tie it in front and you have a shape. Tie it behind for a cleaner line. Or leave it open and let it hang. You never have to button it.

What it's made of: 90% polyester and 10% wool, with a smooth polyester lining. Here's why. A long coat that's mostly wool usually costs $200 to $400, and the designer ones run into the thousands. Most need the dry cleaner too, so you keep paying after you buy it. Plenty of department store coats are mostly polyester anyway. This blend gets you the long, heavy look for under $60. Will it look cheap in person?

Is it warm enough?

Isn't a heavy coat a pain to wear?
